Life in Brunei here is rather slow and relaxing or put it in another word, Slack. haha. Time really flies, Been here for about a month already. Kind of settle down ler. All my friends from Hq Armour have went back liao, now left me alone here. Thank God I've got a group of camp mates who are very friendly and easy to get along with. Went to the Anglican church X'mas eve service last sunday night. it is really very different, the worship is like attending a concert like that very grand. The message is good also, just that quite uncomfortable with the holy communion. Cos got to go up one by one and all those ritual by the priest. But anyway, in general the church is still quite alright. Will be attending the new eve service later at the night, together with my Ssg. Thank God thst there are christian brother and sister in the camp who can axcccompany to go for church service.

Have recived cards from family and friends for the past few weeks. I'm really very happy to received the cards, it really encourage me. Can't wait to see you all but still got a few months before i can go back. Till then, Keep in touch and drop me a mail now and then ok? God Bless and Keep in touch!!!

Hi everyone, back to write again.... Guess this will be the last entry for the year before i fly off to Brunei. Now mixture of feelings right now.... This week is quite a hectic and heavy week for me.. My grandpa just passed away on Tuesday this week. Been staying at his wake for the past few days until today afternoon. Wanna thank God that my Uncles and all the relatives did not force me into doing the ritual with them. Also, for jonathan, ken, jun wen, dennis, qiu song, wei beng and Ms joyann for coming to the wake. really appreciate it alot. Just came back from dinner with my poly friends. Kind of feeling sad right now.. sob sob... cos i'm going to leave singapore soon, and it will take me another 6 months before i can return to singaproe again.

really wanna thanks God for putting all this friends in my life. Church mates, my good buddies, poly friends, families... I can really feeel the love and warmth that they have for me. Words cannot express how important they are in my life. I think if without them, my life would be boring and meaningless and i wouldn't have come to know the Lord. I do not know how the life will be in Brunei but i know one thing is for sure, mty fellow friends and brother, sister here will always keep me in their prayers and I'm not alone. Till next time, see you all next year ba!! God Bless!!!

It has been a while since i last updated. Life for the past 2 weeks have been good. taking leaves and appearing in office for only 1 or 2 days out of 5 days a week. Every week i will be gonig home early returning to office only till middle of next week. However, although I'm quite relaxing now, I still kanna guard duty for this week.Last tuesday upon returning after a few days of resting and slacking, I have to report to the guard house at that evening for nught duty. Best of all, I was being left with the slot for the sentry only.

Thus, no choice have to take that slot. My shift is 6pm to 8pm, 12am to 2am and 6am to 8am. My job is just to stand at the sentry post for 2 hours and check for any suspicious people walking around. What amaze me is during my 12 to 2am slot, I heard a very loud noise and the dogs were barking loudly at that direction. After a while the noise stop and a female wild boar(i think, walk out from the bushes and together with her are her 3 little piglets. The piglets are realy very cute!! they will just follow closely to the mother and walk very fast. After which, they turn back and disappear in the bushes. That scene was really interesting and sort of given me some entertainment ba.

Now I'm just 23 days away from my departure date. Yesterday went for my Dental FFI in Kranji Camp and managed to clear it. Now i'm left with the medical FFI before my departure. Will be meeting up yandan, pei yung and the rest for meal before i fly off. wanna thank them for organising this gathering and hope that everyone will enjoy . looking forward to that day....

Hi everyone, i'm back to update on my life in the armour unit!! Finally, I've complete my 3 weeks tank driver course, everything come to a end on thursday(which is yesterday). will be getting my tank restricted driver license on monday i think. Well about the course, basically it is very siong(hard)cos every day have to service the tank and always kanna punishment from my commanders plus sergeant major. Driving up the gallies, steep slopes, drive at night using NVD and drive up the lowloader. Now i'm very happy cos now no more training and everyday doing office work very shiong.

Also, got another piece of news to tell you guys and of course gals out there, i will be posting out to oversea soon. Have just confirmed with my officer, I will be deployed to Brunei for oversea attachment. Will be stationing there for ONE YEAR, leaving this coming mid december. Hi Everyone!! I'm back to update about myself. This two weeks have been rather relaxing for me cos i'm having block leave right now. No marching, no PT, no shouting from SGT, no lights out and wake up timing... the list justr go on and on. So what have i been doing for the past two weeks? Well, basically most of the time i'll be at home playing playstation 2, battlefield 2, watch DVD/SCV and sleep. Oh ya, also play with my cousin's baby boy, Justin cos my mum is helping her to babysit.
Last tuesday, Joshua invited a few of us to his house to watch DVD and play Xbox. In the end, we only watch one movie: MUNICH and spend the rest of the time playing halo 2. The movie was no bad la, though sometime i will doze off haha. After that, went to coffee club for dinner with Josh, Max, Bernard & Bala. The Mud pie is really nice!!! if i go again, i will definitely order that again. Then yesterday went to meet up with my poly friends. Initially wanted to eat at a hong kong styled restaurant @ Cineleisure but waited for quite a while stil no seats available (may be we too many ppl ba). In the end, went down to level 1, a western restaurant, Chicago's Steak House. in general, the food is not bad. had a good chat with them, updating each other of our life. After the meal, no place to go so go home together. That marks the end of the day.

Oh ya one more thing i gotten my posting ler:

1. You are posted to HQ ARMOUR.
2. Your vocation is AFV OPR - SM1.
3. Your are to report to: Sungei Gedong Camp, HQ Armour Building, RM #02-30
(Opposite 42 SAR).
Reporting Date/Time: 18/09/2006 at 0800 hrs.

Kind of disappointed that I can't get into command school. But still wanna thank God for it cos i believe whatever plans He has for me is always the best for me. No command school means got more time to serve in the Church ministry and may be this year youth camp. Alright, i think thats about it, will update more when return from my new camp.

Hasn't been updating my blog for quite a while.. Yesterday marks a important phase of my army life: from RECRUIT to TRAINED SOLDIER a.k.a PTE.

Yesterday was my Passing out parade. Have been rehearsing it for 1 week. Standing under hot scorching sun, doing all the drills and running in the parade square. All came to an end and what awaits me is my long 15 days of block leave Hooray!!! Wanna thank God for bringing me through the past 3 months of tough training: Field Camp, road march and SIT test. At the same time, God provided me with a good bunch of platoon and section mates: Bryan, Joshua, JP, Wilson Lim/Shen, Kenneth and the list just go on & on.

One incident which I really wanna thank God for is the 24km road march. For those who donno wahts the 24km road march is, it means that you have to carry your field pack which is i think weigh more than 5 kg, with webby, helmet and your M16 rifle and walk for 24km. The journey is really long. Started the march in the afternoon at 3.30pm. Have been seeking for prayer support for strength and endurance before the march. Nick encourage me by asking me to memorise Psalm 23. But God really spoke to me when i have walk for 16km and was taking a break. At that point of time, i was about to break down and i can feel that my eyes started to become watery. I really wanna give up cos blisters and abbrasion plus the heavy load really push me to the extreme. Suddenly, this song just came to my mind, a chinese song by the streams of prasie. I was very touched at that point and it really give me a sense of relief knowing that God is there for me. I pushed on and continued the journey and finally completing the whole march at close to 11pm.

I wanna thank GOD for all the things He has blessed me with: a new home, a new bunch of ns friends and also my brothers and sisters in Christ. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!

Hi everyone, I'm back once again from my tekong 'chalet'!! Yesterday marks the end of the Physical Training Phase and the beginning of Basic Military Training(BMT) Phase. Saw a few group of 'new bird' enlisting on thursday and friday, then i realise, wow, a month has pass.. so fast sia. Hows my life in Chalet? Its the same old thing, eat, training, marching, shall not elaborate more on it. Had a haircut last thursday, now really look like a botak.

Frankly speaking, after going to NS, yes there is a change of life, new knowledge, friends but I felt that I beginning to have the 'NS Syndrome'. Cos, most of the time, i'm in camp, i dunno whats happening outside(except the world cup score:)),then when i book out and meet up with my friends, there isn't really much topic to talk about.. can't possibly tell them about my army life cos they might not be able to understand. Kinda feel out of place at times.. Nick has spoken to me before about this, and i understand what he is saying but that feeling still will be there. Sometime feel kinda lonely i would say...

Pray for me ba..
- for spiritual life to be strengthen especially in the environment where speaking vulgarity is nothing..
- that i would be a good testimony among my peers especially my chrisitian brothers so as to encourage them.
- Pray for good health as i'm getting sore throat, cough this few days. pray for speedy recovering.

Lastly, wanna end with this to encourage myself and all of you out there:

Faith does not say,
“I see this is good for me; therefore God must have sent it.”Instead, faith declares, “God sent it; therefore it must be good for me.”

To God be the glory!!

Hello Folks, I'm back!! The 2 weeks confinement period @ tekong was a totally new experience for me. I'm posted to Pegasus Coy where my Coy Sergeant Major is a Commando. At first, thought that it will be really very tough. However, it turn out to be rather slack though sometime the training can be quite tough. My Sergeant Major is a very funny guy, always joke with us and my platoon commander & sergeants also take very good care of us. Thus ,wanna thank God for placing me in this coy. another thing is, my section got 13 men, out of it got 4 Christians & 1 Catholic. wanna thank God for that too, cos got Christian bunk mates which have the same faith as me, can hepl one another also. Okay, Now just a recap of the past few days since i Book out (which is on thursday nite):

Thursday:
Had a 3km road march with full battle order. in case you dunno what is full battle order, it means carrying your field pack (very heavy!!), SBO, helmet and Rifle. After that went for strength training which is carrying dumbell do exercise and medicine ball which weighs 4 kg. After all the training. finally manage to book out and take the 8pm ferry back to Singapore mainland. Felt really excited when I step my foot on the SAF ferry terminal. Took a couple of buses and finally home sweet home.

Friday:
Went to my graduation ceremony in NYP. Saw my classmates and lecturers, get the cert and that marks the end of my poly life. Felt quite sad, cos going to miss the time that went to lecture and tutorials with my classmates, my badminton kaki and we will have lesser time to meet up with each other. Well, I guess thats life. Anyway, after that went home to change before going out with my family for dinner at sembawang shopping centre to celebrate my dad's birthday, or should i say belated birthday. Cos, my dad was away for about a month to Laos for business trip and just returned on friday, that day. The meal is good and we had a great time too.

Well i guess thats all for now. Will update more when i come back next week..

Sunday, May 28, 2006

Today, my dad is flying off once again to Laos for business trip and will be back 10 days later. Yesterday, had an arguement with him over certain minor issue and he was very angry. After the arguement, as i reflect about it in my room, i felt very bad about it and wanted to apologise to him today. However, today, when he came back home after going to my grandma house to pick up some stuff, can tell that he is still very angry about it. He didn't say anything just went to his room to do some final packing and then head straight to the airport together with my mum and sis. Initially, I wanted to go with them to the airport, thats why i didn't go for service today. In the end, I didn't go and that single word was not said too. I don't know, may be its my pride, cos sometimes its really very hard to bring it across, especially when both of us are very stubborn at times. Haiz... I just hope that the relationship with my dad will be better as times go by.

Please pray for me, that the relationship will be better and closer. Also, as my enlistment date get closer and closer, pray that i will be able to adapt to the new environment and the hectic training.

Today is our Gliderz event of the month @ our church compound. We had some games and after that have our BBQ Fellowship!! I wanna thank Yvonne and the rest of the gals for preparing the foods, its was really delicious and not to forget Ms joyann for the nice spaghetti she cooked.

Also, got a surprise from the committee members. Ms Joyann, gathered all the ppl at the hall and then suddenly talk about the passing of the baton to Wei Beng. All the members went up to share about what they think of me. was really touched and they even bought a cake for me. I want to take this time to thank all the committee members and Ms joyann. It is because of you all and God's grace that i'm able to serve as the Gliderz Chairman.

ps: I've posted some of the photos taken during my australia trip, click here

Monday, May 01, 2006

Hello Friendz!! Just came back from my trip a few days ago. Well, this trip is really fruitful to me. Went to around 26 towns, from the state of south australia to victoria for the whole 10 days. Went to some attractions like the twelve apostles, then went to pick strawberrys at the farm, went to Mt Lofty summit etc. All i can say is the scenery is really NICE!! Its has the best sunrise and sunset that I've ever seen. Really amazed of how God could create such a beautiful sight.

The food there is also good, as we travel through the Great Ocean Road from South Australia to Victoria, we went pass a lots of Coastal Town, from Victor Harbor to Apollo Bay, the freshest food is their seafood!! We ate a lot of fish and chips, and the serving is REAL big. Very nice, and chips is great too. However, one bad thing is, THEY DON'T EAT HOT CHILLI!!! All the places that we went, they doesn't offer hot chilli sauce. They just offer SWEET chilli and best of it, YOU GOT TO PAY FOR IT!! So if you are a chilli lover, you got to prepare a bottle of chilli sauce or else you really will 'suffer'.

During our trip, we also went to a church in melbourne outskirt for service on sunday. There is actually a lot of churches in the whole Australia, wherever we reach a town, we will always find one church there. However, the church that we attend, their attendance is rather low, and their members are mostly elderly. However, I can really see that they are all people who longs after the Lord. This really makes me real glad to see such faithful bro and sis. However, this also makes me worried, as many ppl in Australia don't really attend church. Continue to keep Australia in your prayer, as the more develop a country is, the more distraction and temptations will there be too.

Yesterday, was rather ministered by the sermon. You can make a difference in one's life, though you can't save all ppl throughout your life but at least you can make a differnce in one's life. I really pray and hope that I could make a difference in my surrounding friends life, helping them to know who Jesus is and eventually they will received the Lord as their savior. Went to my cousin's son one month old celebration after service. I'm prepared to take this opportunity t otell the mI'm a christian. When I told them, they are not really angry, and my aunt still say its okay. However, she continue, you can still pray to the God here too "_"

anyway, thank God, my relatives don't have much reactions to my faith. Now, my goal is to get baptise by this year, if God's timing is this year. So, do continue to pray for me as I'm also going for NS soon, pray that I'm able to stay close to God at this phase and not to be drifted away.

Monday, April 17, 2006

Hi back to update about myself... Received my NS enlistment letter. Will be going to the 'Resort' on 9th June... That means that I'm gonna miss the Church Camp , Kinda sad... cos really wanted to go and beside me this year 1st time in the committee. well, all this is God's planning ba... may be He feels that me is growing too much horizontally that why call me in to train up earlier... haha

Will be going to the airport later. Flying off tonight to Australia for a good whole 10 days trip with Jon and Nick. Well, 1st time there, hope that it will be a fun and fruitful trip for all of us. Pray for safety and protection throughout the whole journey.

Will update more when i returned.....

Sunday, April 02, 2006

Just came back from the meeting with the deacons with regards to the Gliderz operations for the past three months. Was rather beneficial to me as received a couple of good ideas from them. Now need to gathe my thoughts and process the ideas before bringing it to the committee. Also, talk about who to take over as chairperson since me, leo and jonathan will be going for enlistment real soon. Have not thought of who to take up the role, got one or two people in mind. Will pray about it and see what God says ba.

Please continue to keep Gliderz in your prayer. Really hope that it will nourish and grow under God's guidance in the years to come.

You are who you are for a reason.
You're part of an intricate plan.
You're a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God's special woman or man.

You look like you look for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You're just what he wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones he chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were custom-designed with God's plan in mind,
And they bear the master's seal.

No, that trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into his likeness you'd grow.

You are who you are for a reason,
You've been formed by the Master's rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God!

Back to update my blog. Past few weeks has been slacking at home doing nothing, so decided to go for a job interview @ Josh & Joey's. Went for the interview and immediately got the job confirmation (got referral by Kang Wei). The manager say will give me a call to arrange a day for training. Till now still have not received the call, but its fine with me also. Cos I know that deep down in my heart, I do not wish to work right now. I like slacking at home, surfing the net, watch TV. However, the fact is Shou ting kou ting. If I don't work, I will not have money to go out with friends. Also, no extra cash to bring to Australia to spend. I hope to find a temp-job which is around 2-3 weeks before I leaves for Australia.

Went to gather some informations and settle the travel visa and insurance with Jonathan and Nick. At the same time, we also planned out our rough itinerary for the trip. All set to go for Australia!!! Well, I never been to Australia before, so don't know how it will be like. Hope that it will be real fun.

Another thing which I'm concern with is BB and Gliderz. Now that I've completed my studies in NYP, I will have amper time to work on the ministry. However, I'm now thinking of drawing out from BB and served in Gliderz. Do I really have the passion to serve in BB? Seriously,I do not know. As for Gliderz, it is still quite new to many so efforts from everyone including me is needed to plan for the programs and Most important of all, God is pleasing in the plans that we have for Gliderz.

Please continue to keep the ministries in your prayers and also pray for Jin Cheng & Thaddeus who is away for mission trips.

Yesterday, went to Jonathan's house to stay overnight in preparation for today's journey. Woke up at 6.25am by Mr. Tay's phone call. Washed up and hop on to the car and off we go to Malaysia's Mt. Ophir!!! However, the excitment was being killed off totally by the Jam at Causeway. Waited at the custom for nearly an hour!! that wasn't the best part, the most important thing is we haven't taken our BREAKFAST!!!! After get off from the jam, immediately move on to the route to Mt. Ophir while search for stopover where food is available. After traveling for quite a while, finally found a stopover and bought some food. Indeed, like what Jonathan say, the food is really 'high-way' food. It was meant just for eating and doesn't really matter whether the taste is nice or not.

After that, was another long drive, about 2 hours before we reached the foothill of Mt. Ophir at 12 plus. Gotten some information and details of the hiking from the ranger office. Its rather exciting when I 1st saw the mountain from far. Really hope that i could go for the trip which is in beginning of June. After that, we continue to drive on to Segamat in search of Jun wen's main objective for the trip : DURIANS!!!! We reached Segamat at around 1.15pm. Ask around n realise there is no Durian at Segamat!!! We have to move on to Ma PO which is 40km away... In the end, settled down at the Pizza Hut there and had our lunch.

As Jonathan need to lend his car to his cousin at 3.30pm, we have to rushed back to Singapore asap. Ask the Petrol kiosk assistant how to travel to 2nd Link. In the end, have to travel up all the way to Yong Peng before turning into the North South Highway. By the time we reached the final toll, its already 3.30pm and everyone is really very tired. We reached Singapore at around 3.45pm and despite his tiredness, Jonathan still offered to drive us home. [:) Thanks Brother!!]

7 hours of traveling, distance of 500km, what a day....

Monday, February 27, 2006

Well for the past few days, i've been resting at home, nothing to do. Its a kinda strange when exams are over and you suddenly realised that you have lots and lots of time that you do not know where to spend in. Wanted to find a part time job but the time doesn't seem to blend in with my schedule. I hope to find a part time job after april so that i could earn some money before my enlistment and also to keep me occupied.

Yesterday was the gliderz event of the month: Picnic @ Macritchie Reservoir. Wanna thank God for the extremely good weather!!! We have lotsa of fun. the picnic, scavenger hunt and also kayaking @ the reservoir!!! Although no newcomer turn up for the event, but I'm sure everyone of us really enjoyed ourselves in the event. Pictures will be posted at a later date at Gliderz official site: http://www.gliderz.sg.tf/

Our upcoming event will be the Bowling Friendly @ Orchid Country Club!! it will on the 2nd week of march. Details will be out @ Gliderz official website. So do look out for it!!! cya!!

Saturday, February 18, 2006

I'm back to write something about myself. Today early in the morning accompanied my mum to Toa Payoh HDB Hub to make payment for our new house. Well, wasn't quite smooth cos my mum nets card exceeded the limit of 2000 per day, so didn't manage to pay for the main one. will go back on monday. After that, went back to parade to settle some log stuff. In the end, just sat there chit chat with officers and play with baby jadyn. Stayed there for the whole afternoon. kind of like the feeling of sitting there chit chat with officer and fellow primers. well, after that went to the salon for a hair-cut cos hair a bit messy.. now working on my worship slides for tomorrow worship service. Pray that God wil cleanse me and give me a listening heart to guide me for tomorrow. Felt rather empty now, may be it becos exam will soon be over ba.... and my poly life will end together with it..

Any way, have decided to go to Australia for a 10 days free and easy self drive with Jonathan, leonard and nick!!! will be going in mid-april. however.... I NEED TO FIND A PART TIME JOB 1ST!!!! Any lobang to recommend, need to really save up for the trip only got a month. So if you have any job, please please please do recommend me... of cos it must be legal one la.. haha alright thats for all now... will update again after my papers.

Wednesday, February 15, 2006

Yesterday was 14 Feb valentine's day. got go out with gal but its studying in the library for the whole morning for exam. Studied till afternoon 3 plus, then went to Arthur's for worship rehearsal together with nick. Well, the rehearsal was rather messy.. as got problems in projecting my voice to sing.. haha but slowly able to catch up with the key and tempo.. rehearse for nearly 2 hours.. settle the songs already.. after that have a good chat with nick and arthur. nick posted me a question," so are you coming back to serve as a BB officer?". it really caught me off guard. i mean, frankly speaking, i never really thought of it before le... all i can see is, few years down the road, me being an auditor in a CPA firm, studying ACCA part time. BB officer is not really in the picture. well, come to think of it... i never really put God in my plan and picture. I must really confessed.. think need to really put Him as priority and give it a thought...

Then, after that went to supper with them and Jonathan. Discuss about the australia trip.. will be flying to adelaide and start from there. sounds very exciting, can't wait to fly there!! Hope that exam will end very soon, get good results, find part-time job to feed my account 1st.

Friday, February 10, 2006

Hasn't been updating my blog for quite sometime... so thought of dropping by to write something about myself and things that happens around me. As usual project has been the main topic for the past weeks.... but thank God that all this is gonig to end by this coming Sat!!Yeh!! Indeed, I'm really amazed on how God has place me in NYP in the beginning. at first wanna go NP but end up in NYP but i'm very glad and enjoy life in here. Thank God for blessing with a group of fun loving classmates... Aina and group, Shi yun and group, Heling and group, the list just will not end man.... Also not to forget the lecturers especially christian lecturer who have show me the way and advice me. thanks to all. Exam is coming, after that we will have our class gathering @ Aloha Loyang ( Ye!! finally booked it). After that will go on our seperate ways perhaps... seperation is always the difficult part isn't it? but i know that God has a plan for everyone and we can still meet up every now and then for dinner and movie, right?

Well... change of subject.. Today after project work was on my way to worship rehearsal when i received a call from my mum that my brother is having the back problem again.. so have to rushed down to his camp at chong pang to bring him to TTK hospital for check up. He is now hospitalised for observation. dun no why he has been falling ill and having injuries recently. really must pray for him. Also, a million thanks to Jon and nick for sending my brother to the hospital!! After that, went back for worship rehearsal.. at first really messy dunno how to link up the songs but after singing and rehearsing, and with much help from Nick and Arthur, manage to link it all up. Thank God for He really help me to understand more abt leading worship... then after that while walking to the MRT station with Nick, we discuss about the trip to Australia. Well... he asked me if i could afford it as we must really know about our limit not just ppl go then we also go... that really sets me thinking... $2000 is not a small amt, can i afford?

All my life, I've been following people decision, and many a time because of my indecisiveness, often cause ppl to follow me to walk a longer route. but guess thats my character ba... I really hope that I will be able to learn to be more decisive as i grow older...

Thank God for watching over me for the past few years... from a person that is very hot tempered easily agitated and self centered guy to now... quite a patient person, not easily get angry and like happy go lucky one... I'm not trying to say that I'm a perfect person cos no one is perfect... however, its God who brought me through thus far... Thank God for everything.. my friends, family members, churchmate and most of all my Judah Cell Brothers!!! Really must thank God for them.
