today decided to stay at home to rest. Yesterday went out with Jon they all to ECP for cable ski but cos of my inability to swim in the water, cannot play. Thus decided to pick up swimming lesson even though i'm like a bit too old for that. After that, went on to Parkway Parade to have our lunch and shop around in the area, bought an DVD and cd by Eagles. After that,we went to this place thats near Tanglin, around Dempsey Road for Ben and Jerry Ice Cream. The place is really very secluded, away from the general crowd. Nice place, good environment but the things there may be too expensive for many of us at the moment. Will be good for chilling out at there with a batch of friends, best you travelled there with car cos its quite inaccesible. After that, we went back to woodlands as Beng needs to go for work at Botak Jones. Send him to work liao then we head down to CWP for Movie: National Teasure 2. This is my second time watching liao, so no much of a difference for me, as usual the action n all the puzzle is well designed. Head to Botak Jones for Dinner, the portion is really huge, can't finish it sia... think can go again cos the food is really not bad and the price is quite affordable. Went back home after that And that marks the end of a day.... Now I've roughly set out my new year resolution for 2008: - Learn to Swim - To pick up piano lesson. - Get into a Uni

Hi everyone been back to singapore for quite a few days ler.... quite busy for the past few days because of the Christmas season. Spending most of the time, going out with my buddies, eating, shopping, watch movies.... had our christmas celebration at 589A yesterday. Quite enjoyed the fellowship with the rest. Went off half way after worship to go to Cindy's 21sty birthdya party at the sky garden at jeluntong CC. Saw a lot of friends who I've not been in contact for the past few years. Am glad that they all doing well in their various work. Its really very difficult for me to strike a conversation with them as many of you may know, I'm not a person that will strike conversation with ladies first, especially with friends that I've not seen for quite some time. It went well, saw Cindy, pass her the present (Hope she likes it) then stayed a while for buffet plus cake cutting. After that went back to 589A to meet up with the rest. Had a good chat with Nick. He told us that God has really been good to us, putting us in leadership roles in various ministry in our church. He believes that we are capable to take up the roles in the ministry that God wants us to go. Its time to let us go, and to focus on platoon 17 to nurture them into leaders. At that moment, I suddenly felt very heavy at heart. What he say is true....We've all reach 21 years old ler... have been in the church for the past 6-7 years... taking up various roles in youth, mission, music ministry. We've been in the lime light for so long, its time to move on and let God put us into the ministry that He intends for us to go to. Nick told us that the youths even Shermaine they all are also looking upon us as examples... that means we have to set a good example so that the rest may not be led astray. Frankly speaking, I really dun want to move one, cos I felt that I'm not really to take up the responsibility that is waitng ahead of me. I'm afraid cos What I do may affect the rest..... I just want to commit everything into God's hand. Also, I wanna thank God for bring Nick into my life to be my mentor, sharing and guiding me through out my life in BB and even now at church. I prayed that I may be able to be humble and submit myself entirely into God's hand and let Him take control of my life.....

Today is a loner day for me. All of my camp mates booked out on their own. Thus, decided to do some shopping before I go back to Singapore tomorrow. Hop on the public bus at the bust stop outside the camp. Head to Delima to buy some chocolates... at first, have some difficulties in locating the shop. after some walking around the area, finally found the shop. Stayed in the shop for about 30 minutes, saw some very nicelly wrapped chocolate. Think you peeps will like it. After that, head down to bandar to continue the shopping. Initially, wanted to take the public transport, then a van stop by and ask whether want to hope on, $1 only. This is the 'private' transport in Brunei. As I didn't want to wait for the bus, so just hop on. Its quite fast actually, but after hop on a bit regret cos its not really safe, as you dunno where the driver will bring you to. Thank God reach the destination safely. Reach there, didn't shop for anything but just do some window shopping. Saw the Pc game: Max Payne 2 on the shelf for sale. A bit tempted to buy it but in the end didn't (thank God sia). After that, went to Kiulap via the water taxi. Went to watch the movie: National Treasure at Seri-Qlap Mall which premieres today. Not bad I would say, but kind of simple with no twist of the story. Will give it 3 out of 5 star. After that, went to Bakerlyn to buy some bread. I must say their bread is really delicious. Now I'm at a Internet cafe, using internet. Will be flying off tomorrow or in 23 hours time .....hahah..... Can't wait to see you Guys !!!! Will update more when i return ba:) God Bless!

Today has been a tiring and frustrating day for me... Took part in the IPPt this morning. Result was encouraging but yet disappointing. As usual, manage to secure all the static stations with 5 points each except for the SBJ. This time, its even worse.. didn't manage to get 225cm (silver std) , only manage to get 221. Super sad sia..... However, after that went on for the running. Manage to hit my best timing: 9:56!! its a huge improvement from my last timing which is 10:48. At least its a show of sign that I'm closer to the Gold std. Thank God for all the strength and endurance through out the run and all the statics stations. After that, went back bunk for quick wash up before going to work. Work today is really tiring. Especially when people who has nothing to do, slacking and happily chit chatting in front of me. I really hates it man... and also, people keep pushing me to complete my task even though i told them i will be able to complete it on time. Really pisses me off... plus today did quite a lot of fatigue work, really shack me out. Thank God, all my tasks are completed, now left with the vehicles to work on before I fly back for 2 weeks break. Hopefully. will be able to fix back my vehicle before I go back, if not will get another scolding from 'someone' when I return. Feel rather high in morale cos gonna go back soon in about 3 days time. Really misses Singapore, all my friends, family, and not to forget my church mates :) Will see you all in SG soon :) God Bless!

decided to take a day off to rest in bunk. Yesterday just went through another day of Guard Duty. Now surfing net in bunk.. dun realy know what to write here.... will be going back Singapore in about a weeks time.. now got mix feelings, cos its like 6 months since i last went back. Didn't really know what to expect... the past 6 months here has been rather smooth sailing for me, its just that as the days draw nearer, emotions began to flow thru, I'm really happy that I manage to pull through for the past 1 year here... dun really know what to do when I go back Singapore..... meet up with friends? makan? go shopping? or just stayed at home and enjoy the quietness and the short term freedom that I've gotten. Now I just left with 4 more months before I finally End my tour here and go back to my beloved home. dun really know what I'm writing, think my brain not functioning well due to lack of sleep... will stop here before I start to talk rubbish.....

Hi Everyone, hasn't been updating for the past two weeks. Life is, as usual, simple here, nothing big happens. Came back from outfield, after that for the past few days, washing and cleaning the vehicle. I can say that time passes very fast for the outfield. Manage to complete all the runs, nothing much of a problem even though we have a new comer who is replacing Lim Hong. Then last saturday, Lim Hong EOT and flew back to SG ler... Didn't manage to send him off cos need to go church for service. Now left me the most lao jiao among the platoon mates, soon I will be going off and then will ORD and begin a new phase of my life. Didnt really wanna think about it, but well, have to really plan now if not ORD dunno what to do sia... haiz.... Anyway, I've got good news to share with you all: My flights to SG have been confirmed!! Yeah!!! :) Got the news from my chief clerk that the stand in dates has been confirmed. He will be coming on the 20th dec and leaving on 4th Jan. That means I will be able to fly back on 21st Dec and return on 3rd Jan. Once I gotten the news, I immediately go check on the website to see if there is any cheaper flights on that day and Guess what?! there is !!!! I check on the date and realise that the price for the ticket as dropped from 513 to 363! Praise the Lord ! Manage to save $100 plus on my tickets. Can use the money to buy X'mas gifts for everyone :) even though I've no idea what to buy. Saw a few nice stuff here in their shopping mall, think will drop by again on Saturday to see what I can buy. Alright below are my flight details: Friday, 21 December 07 Bandar Seri Begawan , BN (BWN) - Singapore , SG (SIN) BI421 18:00 - 20:00 Thursday, 03 January 08 Singapore, SG (SIN) - Bandar Seri Begawan , BN (BWN) BI422 20:55 - 22:55 Will be seeing you all soon :) Till then, do take care of yourself :) God Bless!

Today went out with benjamin, Lian, Cam, faizal and Azri to Bandar for some shopping and hunting of X'mas Decor. In the end, didn't do any shopping, but spotted quite a few nice items for X'mas gifts. Will go back again to get them after my outfield. After that, went off to Kiulap via the water taxi . The water taxi this time is travelling in a rather slow speed, may be is becos we are too heavy ba ahaahhahh..... After reaching Kiulap, went around to shop for Dvds and PC games. After that, decided to go Q-Lap Mall to watch Enchanted with Benjamin and Nelson. The movie is fantastic and Hilarious I would say, especially the Chipmunk , been laughing through out the whole show. Really dun mind watching it again. After that went back camp liao, almost late for ferry, thank God Sgt Raizal make a turn to come back and fetch us, thanks alot sgt! Now watching Soccer with my Camp mates, feeling super hungry right now. Think thats all for now, needs to go hunt for food liao....

These two weeks had been rather hectic for me and my platoon mates. Last week, we rented two vehicle on Saturday as sir and Lim Hong just gotten their driving license. Went to Q-Lap Mall to watch the movie,”Beowulf”. I was rather disappointed as the movie is ¾ full of animated scenes. Also the whole movie has been using the same plot over and over again, making it rather boring. Another Garbage movie... haiz … after that went to Jerudong Park for the go cart and other games like the bumper car and the water log. After which, we went to Terrace Hotel to have our steamboat dinner which cost us about $15 each. Later the night, we initially wanted to go to Pentai Jerudong which has a rather spacious car park which we can use for our driving practices. However, while on the way there, it started to raining cats and dogs. In the end we have no choice but to turn back and proceed back to camp. Last week we have our Challenge Cup among us and our counterparts. I participated in 2 games: Basketball and Touch Rugby. During the 1st round, we won the Basketball but draw in touch rugby and soccer. After that during our second round, manage to thrash them in basketball (51-6 hahaha) and touch rugby (1-0). I participated fully in the touch rugby match on Wednesday. That day was raining inconsistently; the field was wet and muddy. We form up in teams of 10 and put up a good fight through out the match. We score one touch down during the first half of the match. After that we tried to fight back to get one more point and yet at the same time defending our line against the opponent. The ground is so wet that we are like playing in the mud pool. Many of us inflict injuries on our knee and ankle but we still hold on to our defence line. When the final whistle is being blown, we are so excited that we ran to one another hugging and screaming. At that moment, I was so happy that I nearly broke into tears. As this is the first time that we played in the game and plus the bad weather all that. It really is the glories’ moment of my tour in here. Today, we rented 3 Toyota Vios for the outing. Went to Mata Mata to have our breakfast: Singapore Big Prawn Noodle. I would not say that it’s the same standard as in Singapore, but at least there is some similarities in it. Quite enjoyed their fry kuaw teow and Carrot Cake. After that, went to Q-Lap Mall again, to watch the movie, ”Hitman”. I find the movie so-so only, as there are areas where the scene is not realistic, like a person holding a SAW machine gun on each of his hand, firing at the main character. It’s really hilarious I would say. The night before, I went to watch, the kingdom. Not bad I would say, at the first part of the movie, its like CSI, collecting evidence, examine the dead body etc. and after that, it become like Bourne, guns and RPGs firing here and there. After that we went to The Empire with the intention of settling our dinner with their seafood international buffet which cost $48 but in the end the whole restaurant is fully booked. We are left with no choice but to head down to Kiulap to the Capers Pizza and Pasta Buffet. After that, we went on our own separate ways, went to Berakas Stadium to practice our driving, turning and braking skills. Reach camp at around 2330 hr. What a tiring day…………..

Hi everyone, I'm back again to update on my life here in Brunei. Things has been rather smooth sailing. Now we are in the down period so not much of work for all of us. Have been helping Log branch to shift and assemble bed frames and mattress for there trooper bunk for the past few days. Went to Church alone on Saturday as Benjamin is on duty and Mdm Gloria is in SG for her indulgence. Thank God that even though I went alone, manage to talk to this nice lady, Grace from the Congregation. She is working at the university of Brunei Darussalum. Share with her about our church , also about my grandma condition. she shared with me on her own testimony about how she went through when her father passed away and how her brothers even though are followers but are not leading a righteous life. After that , we prayed together before leaving the church. Thank God that He led her to share with me abt her testimony so as to encourage me :) btw, her grandson name is also caleb ... hahaha... Still waiting for news from SG to confirm whether there will be stand in for me to go back. have manage to book the air ticket thru the travel agency. details as follows: Wednesday, 21 December 07 (on waiting list) Depart: 18:00 Bandar Seri Begawan , BN (BWN) Arrive: 2o:00 Singapore , SG (SIN) Thurday, 03 January 08 Depart: 20:50 Singapore , SG (SIN) Arrive: 22:55 Bandar Seri Begawan , BN (BWN) The air ticket at 1st is $633 but after i change my dates the price become a lot cheaper, $363.... ahhaa so happy. Now just pray that can find stand in for me. Will be renting cars to go out with my camp platoon mates this coming weekend. Haven't been renting for quite a while, will be briefing them on the program cos no one have any idea where to go so must come out something so that we will not get bored during the road trip.. hahaa... By the way I took my IPPT today gotten Silver standard and my timing has improve, praise God for that. Now my officer is pushing me for Gold. Hopefully by God's grace, i will be ble to achieve it. thats all now... will update more when got time.

Just now received a call from my mum. My grandma is hospitalised again.... my cousin will stay with her tonight in the hospital while my mum tomorrow will go and take over from her. Please keep my grandma in your prayer... pray that even though shes not a believer, God will relieve hre from her unbearable pain. Heard from my mum also that Dad has been rather consistant in his work with my uncle. Going back to Laos right now is not availale as a option for him. Am rather glad to hear that, cos that is what i hope he will be, working in singapore, having a stable income, able to accompany the family thats it. Thank God that He has provided my dad with a job to work with my uncle. Now feeling rather tired, think is because of the flu that I caught this afternoon. Just now manage to get some flu tablet from Camillus. Think the medicine will take effect quite soon. Anyway, today manage to spend some time reading on the book that I put aside for quite a while. Came across this sentence that i find it quite make sense: 'Some things are loved because they are worthy. Some things are worthy because they are loved' How true is that... A million thks to all those who remembered my birthday and see you all pretty soon in Singapore. Really need to recharge myself.. God Bless! :)
Happy Birthday to me... happy birthday to me... happy birthday to me... happy birthday to me.. Today is my 21st years old birthday. 1st time spending my birthday oversea and somemore its 21st birthday sia... sad sia.... Yesterday got guard duty some more until today 9 plus then off duty. Hi everyone! I'm back again to update on my life in Brunei. This few days have been working on the Inspection by the LRI Team from Singapore. Today is the final day. Managed to clear most of the stuff that they fault and the inspectors are quite impress with the tanks and equipments. Thank God that everything went on smoothly and we are back to the slacking life Oops.... hahaha... Then Jun Yue and Jun Hong went back to S'pore yesterday ler... a bit sad sia.... cos they are one of the closest friend who has been with me for the past 10 months and they are going to ORD soon.. so wish them all the best in whatever they do and i will sure contact them to come out for makan when I'm back so you two better keep yourself free :) Also, today got a lot of ppl flew back to S'pore. Benji, Lo, Randolph & Ssg Vic. 3 of them is flying back becos either on compassionate leave or family got problem, only Benji is back for indulgence. Its quite sudden for them actually, got the news and flew back the next day. Please pray that God will give them and their family comfort and peace during this moment of sadness and grieving. will be taking over Benji's duty while he is away but am happy that he can go back S'pore to recharge even though its only for a week cos I feel that no matter how long is your tour, you should go back S'pore after 4 to 5 mths of stay to get recharge and be back again in Brunei. Celebrate Alex and Lim Hong's birthday last few weeks. My Birthday will be coming soon, next week but its a weekday and best of all I will be doing Guard Duty the night before :( Guess will be spending the first few hours of my 21st birthday in the Guard room.. haiz... just hope that there won't be any turn out or stand to during the wee hours ahhaha... Think won't be having a big party but just a nice simple meal outside with all my buddies here, that would be enough. Please pray for my grandma, dunno how she's doing.... pray that God will relieve her from her pain.....

I'm back again to update... yesterday had a happy hour for Armour Detachment @ the Function Hall. Before that went out in the afternoon with the whole detachment to the cinema to watch the movie: The Last Legion. Its yet another disappointing film, just like the seeker... haizz... thank God the movie ticket is only 5 dollars... haha.. After that went to Coffee zone again to relax and chit chat for a while with Jun Yue, Jun Hong and the rest. After that went for a hair cut and go to The Mall, Gadong to do some window shopping, saw quite a few items that is very nice, think will go again next month when i'm filled with money again :) Went to makan after that at one of the resturant that serve chinese cuisines. Not bad la, but a bit below the std that I've expect it to be. After that, went back to camp to rest for a while and head up straight to the function halll for the Happy Hour. At the function, sing karaoke for about 1-2 hours. After that waited for our birthday boy, Lim Hong to arrive. After that, cut the cakes. sing song. drink a bit of wine while the rest drink liquor like jim beam, chivas. After that, started to set up the platform for our Dota Challenge. Played for like 2 h0urs like that. It was really fun and its been a long time since we last have this kind of event. Should have it more often and of cos, we can make do with out the liquor :). Ended everything by 2.30am like that. After that went back to bunk and have another game of DOTA before we end the night or should say midnight at 3.30am. What a tiring day for me.... P.S. Pls pray for my Grandma who is diagnosed with stomach cancer. The cancer cell has spread to her other parts of the body. Pleae pray that the Lord will relieve her pain..

Hi Guys, back again to update on my boring life here in Brunei. Have just wnt thru a long weekend due to the many days of holidays here becos of Hari Raya. 1st day went to the muslim specialist house for house warming. spend the whole day at their house, eating and chit chatting. Then during the night time, went out with Chief to sengkurong hua ho to shop for stuff and then went to makan at a place that sell mee pok!! that really excites me cos really misses singapore food. Although cannot compare with SG std but still can eat la hahaha after that went to makan at a place near the LTA that sells singapore big prawn noodles. when its serve, the prawn is really HUGE! however, once i have a sip of the soup, I was really disappointed. The soup is really salty, and because of that, the whole bowl of noodles becomes really salty. Think will go back again to try in the morning to taste the noodles cos heard from chief that hte noodles is usually not that salty one. Life here is beginning to get bored... been here for 10 mths liao.. almost all the places in the urban area I've been to ler.... think its time to get back to singapore to recharge then get back here again. Tomorrow will be the beginning of the work day... really dread to work sia... also thursday will be the IPPT test, keeping my fingers cross, hopefully can get at least silver for the 2nd year

Just came back from my guard duty, now in Mess using internet. Yesterday the weather is really good, cos its been raining through out the night so no need to prowl and somemore the DO will not come and turn us out. Anyway, yesterday was a great night for me cos can sleep all the way from mid night to the next morning.. hahaha... The preparation for the LRI is almost finish. Now left with the cleaning and wiping of the compartments of the vehicles. Hopefuly everything will turn out to be fine and we will be able to pass the LRI. Tomorrow, my good friend, Jun Yue will be flying over to Brunei here to stand in for some of the new guys who are going back SG for their Home Leave. Am glad that can see him again before he ORD. Think will rent car and go Jalan Jalan with him, Jun Hong and perhaps the rest of the armour guys. This Sunday will be the Istana open house. Our AO will be organising a trip to the palace to go shake hand with the Sultan of Brunei. Am really excited about it cos its a one in a life time experience to shake hand with the Sultan and some more got a lot of food to eat hahahah..... Hopefully will be able to T-loan a set of formal wear from my platoon mates here cos you need to dress formally in order to shake hand with the sultan. Also, open house means another Public Holiday for us on Monday!!! Hooray!!! Another long weekend! haahaha.... Alright think thats it for now will update more next time. God Bless! :) Ps: pray for me that I can clear my 2nd IPPT window and achieve Silver std. Also my spiritual walk with the Lord.

This two days has been a rather relaxing and yet tiring day for me. Yesterday went out with the Guys to watch the movie, 'the seeker: the dark is rising'. Was laughing through out the moviecos it was really hilarious in the way that the whole show is presented. Think its a film to cheat kid one hahaha.. Then after that went to walk around the mall browsing through PS2 games and DVDs. After that went to Overseas restaurant for dinner and after the meal benjamin start to feel unwell so in the end didn't go to church with us. In the end, only me and Mdm gloria went for the serivce. After the service, saw comd and Cpt Alan, then mdm ask me if I want to drive to the place near our camp for supper, i say okay. However, dunno why le while driving to the place i was very nervous, hands keep trembling.... so pai seh sia hahahaa... have drove for a couple of times liao... 1st time so nervous think is because she suddenly ask me to drive and i also feel a bit tired. reach the place, makan roti prata , chat awhile then went back to camp. By then its already 1130pm, was feeling really tired. Went to bunk, wash up and sleep all the way till the next morning 1030am... Then today woke up, feeling rather refresh. slack around in aries, reading newspaper and watcha bit of tv. Went out in the afternoon to Bandar to walk around the place. Went to one of their attractions, the Arts and Handicraf centre with Alison and wilson they all, cos Alison wanted to buy some souvenir before he fly back this thursday for his home leave. In the end, quite disappointed with the place, the stuff is very limited and also very EXPENSIVE. In the end, went to coffee bean again to settle down and relax. Sat there till 5 and then set off to Kiulap again, with the aid of the Water Taxi. Went around the area looking for a place t osettle our dinner. at first went to the korean restaurant but the moment we stepped in, we are 'welcome' by a strong pungent smell. Immediately we went out of the place and went on to search for another place. Saw this cafe, de fountain. Went in to look at the menu, the place is nice but too cramp and alison they all don really like the food so went on to the last and final restaurant, D'April Cafe. The place is simple and nice. Ordered the grill boneless spring chicken together with the honey lemon tea. The drink is nice and the side dish: mashed potatoes is also vey nice, just that the black pepper sauce is a bit salty. After that went off to Kiulap mall to walk around and saw this bakery seems quite nice but too bad no time to go in and see. Will go back again next week to try the stuff. Thats it for now, need to go sleep liao tomorrow will be having our comdt parade. *Make a bad decision previously, now need to remedy it, hopefully it can be solve peacefully.

Hi everyone, I'm back again to update on my life in Brunei. Time really flies sia, tomorrow will be my 10th month here in Brunei. Last weekend, managed to go to the airport to send off our armour mate, Jin Chuan aka Ah Lou. Have been sending off people for the past few weeks, 1st is my dearest and closest crewmate, Zhi Yi and Elgin then now is Jin Chuan. Have seen alot of change over in JAC here. somewhat sad and happy at the same time. Cos we been living under one roof for the past 9 months but am glad cos that means i will be going home for vacation soon :) This few days has been quite a relaxing one for many of us here. Cos we just had a long weekend due to the Public holiday here in Brunei. Went out with Lian Sheng and Jun Nian to walk around Bandar. I really likes it cos we were just walking around, exploring the place, doing window shopping. After that went to Coffee Bean to take a rest and have a cup of cuppacino and chocolate muffin. Had a little chat and browsingof magazine. Happen to saw this place called 'twelv' being talk about in the magazine. Thus, decided to take the water taxi (speed boat) from Bandar to Kiulap. It was yet another exciting ride from Bandar to Kiulap. Went to the Bakery, 'bakelyn' to buy my favorite vanila donut. After that went wandering around Kiulap, explore it to see if there is any good place that we can shop. Then saw the restaurant, 'twelv'. Went in and have a look. The place is really very nice and cosy. ordered the seafood platter and the drink called,'wake me up b4 u mango', find it quite interesting so order lor. sat there and chat for a whole 2 hours. Its really a good place and I'm definitely will visit there again. This few weeks has been spending a lot of money on food and entertainment. Think have to spend a bit lesser this month or else it will become an habit for me. Btw, Jun hong is back again to stand in for wei rui and Jun yue will also be coming so this month may be cannot save money ler hahaha. Think will bring them around the area, go makan and jalan jalan. This week has been a tiring week for me and my platoon mates here in Brunei. We have been busying servicing and preparing our Vehicle for the upcoming Inspection. I wish I could post a picture of me now (sorry no camera), I look like one of the construction workers in Singapore sia... haha cos yesterday we have been working under the hot Sun for like 4 hours!? everyone is sun until very tanned that the rest of the people in Camp are asking us what we do for the whole morning.. anyway, after our work, we went out together to a Japanese resturant at Centrepoint Hotel, Gadong. The food there is not bad la, but the place is really cramp and we got like 14 ppls?! so we have to squeeze ourselves into the room which we paid for $15 for the reservations. After which we order quit a few dishes to try. I like the soft shell crab and the Ebi teriyaki, its really soft and fresh. When we are about to finish, I order another dish, Okomiyaki, like pan cake cos its look quite delicious. I was wrong. It taste really awful that I didn't mange to finish it. On top of it, it cost me $8! yesterday total damage for the meal is $30... so sad sia... think will not be going back again. Today went to LTA with Lian Sheng and Jun Nian. Waited for a while to get their registration for the driving done. After that, we took a short walk to Gadong, on the way, we spotted this Nyoya Resturant, so we went to take a look. Once we went in, we realise that they are having promotion for Dim Sum, 1 'long' for 99cents. We decided to try it out since its rather cheap. The Dim Sum is rather good I would say even though the variety is rather limited. We spend like an hour sitting there, enjoying the Dim Sum, chit chatting. Its a good place to makan I would say. Think will bring the rest to come and try out also, may be bring Jun Yue and Jun Hong go also. After that went to watch the movie: 881:papaya sisters. Its really a very nice movie. Hilarious I would say. The singing and the costumes and the actors really makes me wanna laugh.. haha... think those who haven't watch should go and watch it, even though most of it is in Hokkien (don't worry, got Subtitles to help you :). After watching the movie, here I am slacking in Coffee Zone, drinking Oreo Mochacinno Frappe and using the internet here. Later on will be going to Church with Mdm Gloria and Benjamin. Think thats all for now I guess.. will update more next week.. take care my friends and stay happy :)

Back again to update on my life in Brunei. This week, I would say, is rather short... Went for outfield from Monday to Wednesday. Came back on Wed Nite. Throughout the outfield, face quite a lot of problems: Vehicle down, unable to start, have to go back camp to get the spare to fixe it. One thing I enjoy most is the R&R when the vehicle is down haha.. also the cooperation of my crews during the training. During the training, my other platoon mates commented that our crew 14C, put up a good show. I'm really proud to be part of the 14C crew. However, tomorrow, my gunner & best pal will be leaving Brunei back to our Homeland, Singapore. Felt really sad right now.. cos we've been through a lot of things throughout the past 9 months here. We are like brothers in one big family sia... sob sob... Here's some of the photos taken during the outfield: New member to our family My Buddy who is leaving.... Like this pic alot! Don't you think its nice? Me & Cam @ the beach together with the rest Tomorrow Zhiyi and Elgin will be taking afternoon flight back so will be sending them off at the airport. Wanna wish both of you all the best and take good care of yourself pal. keep in contact ba :)

This week is rather hectic for me. Went to Temburong for Medical FFI on Wednesday. It was a tiring day for me. At first, arrange to meet at MT line for transport to Jetty to take the fast craft. Later realise that need to arrange transport to pick me up at the jetty, which I didn't. Through out the journey from camp to Jetty, I've been calling LC Comcen to arrange for transport but couldn't get thru. Called Camp Comcen to ask Qiao Yong to help me arrange. After that, Ridzwan help me to call up the Admin clerk at LC to help to arrange transportation. I was very worried throughout the journey. Then, I remembered the sermon given by Senior Pastor Derek Ong from Church of our Savior about do not worry but commit everything to the Lord. Thus, I calmed myself down and say a prayer in my heart to the Lord, committing everything to Him. After reaching the Jetty, Ridzwan pick up the LC personnel which includes the LC MT Line 2I/C. He help me to arrange for transport to pick me up at the Temburong Jetty. Board the fast craft at 9am, couldn't really calm myself down, so been saying prayer to the Lord throughout the Boat ride. When about to reach the Temburong Jetty, Received SMS from Ridzwan that transport has been arrange and also SMS from Zhi Yang that the MO will be available to see me. God is really marvelous and incredible. At first, nothing is confirmed but slowly piece by piece everything started to match up to form the picture. Finally, the transport pick me up and went to see the MO. I passed the Medical FFI.Anyway, saw Alex while I was at LC. Can see that he is really training hard in preparation for the JCC. Really hope that he can overcome and pass the course as he really put in a lot of effort, especially in his physical, in order to get the chance to go for the course. Friday receive news from Chief Clerk that my extension has been approved. Thus, I will be extending my tour from end of this year till next year april. Will take this period to spend more time in my walk with God and also to think about my plan after I ORD. Thinking to study at SIM-RMIT for account degree or work full time and study part time ACCA. Please pray for me that God will reveal His plans to me throughout my stay here. Anyway, will be back in December for 1 week to meet up with all my friends. Think thats it for now, will update again when I'm free.

Hi all, update once again. Last sunday is really a tiring yet exciting experience for me. As last week, we rented two cars to go jalan jalan. Its my 1st time driving an auto car after I gotten my license 2 months ago. We rented a Toyota Vios and Mitsubishi Magna for the 11 of us. I went off to fetch camillus using the toyota vios before meeting the rest at the empire for dim sum buffet. Kinda scare at fast, cos its the first time that i'm driving on the road without an instructor, but thank God that Razzil is my Veh Comd so still okay. After picking Cam up, we proceed to the empire for our buffet. The buffet is rather good I would say but not as good as the time i first go. After we have our meal, we drove off to the Kiulap Mall for movie. We went to watch Dead silence. Think its quite a scary movie as most of the time Joshua & I keep covering our face, hahhaa.. overall I think the movie ending is good, quite unexpected I would say. When we finished watching the movie, We realise that its raining heavily outside. Thus, we decided to go shop around the mall and wait for the rain to stop. Afte about 45mins, the rain finally subsided. We decided to proceed to Jerudong Park to see if we can play the Go kart there. In the end, we ended up playing bumper car. Its really fun and I haven't been playing it for at least 10 yrs I would say. After that we went off to Gadong to have our dinner. After eating our meal, we decided to drive back to camp even though its only 8.30pm. While we are on our way back, we suddenly decide t oturn back and drive straight to Jerudong Park for the Go Kart. Manage to play it for a while before heading back to camp at 10.30pm. Its really a tiring day for me. However, I hope that there will be more to come :)

Hi Everyone, its been a while since i last update my blog. How is everyone doing? Guess should be doing fine ba... Anyway, has beep a bit happening for the past few weeks. Last last saturday, went for hiking with my colleagues here. We went to the Canopy walk at Temburong. Woke up early in the morning, ate our breakfast then move out to the ferry terminal to take the fast craft to Temburong. The Ferry ticket The Hikers of the trip The Fast Craft to Temburong After reaching Temburong, we boarded the vehicle that is waiting for us and fetch us to the river where we need to take a traditional temuai up Sg. Temburong to reach the Canopy Walk. The Belalong Nature Reserve After reaching the Nature Reserve, we registered our names and began climbing the route. We walk pass the suspension Bridge and what awaits us is flights and flights of stairs. After climbing for about 30 to 45minutes we finally reached the treetop bridge. The bridge pillar is actually make up of scaffolding thus, its rather scary when the thing shakes when we move our way up. heres some of our picture took on the top: After the climbing, we were inform that we are uable to go to the water fall because of the dry season. Pretty disappointed at that point. in the end, we walk acrossed the stream and have a little rest before proceeding back to our camp and thats mark the end for our trip.

Went running at 7.30am in the morning just now. My officer suppose to join me for the run as he is the one who invite me to run with him, but he needs to go racky for the route for the jog with the minister. Thus, in the end left me, lim hong and Brandon. Went for a jog around the camp, run for 3 round, clock about 4.2km. Quite relaxing to run in the morning when the weather is cooling. After running, went for breakfast, which is roti prata. Not too bad, just that the curry is a bit sour. Well, cannot compare with singapore la.. haha.. in total, this week I've clock 15 km for the 200km run. Will continue to run till our department become the first to complete it!! hahaa.. Anyway, this few days I've been thinking.. about what to do when I ORD which is about 10 months away... time really flies man... I really dread to enter into working life.... thinking of taking up ACCA or go SIM to take up the bachelor degree offered by RMIT. Now the question is, am I going to take the course as part time/ full time? really kind of difficult to choose sia... May be its because I'm a person who can be really lazy at times that I just want to lay back and hope that things will happens (Which will not in many cases). Do pray for me that God will give me wisdom to understand His plans for me. Hasn't been hearing from the click about the Gliderz Youth Ministry in Glory Joy. I've been thinking of being involved in the ministry when i get back to Singapore. I hope that the ministry is doing well and expanding bit by bit to the people around us. Please pray for the committee members of the ministry and also wisdom for the church leaders to provide advice and help that together we can do a part in letting the people around us to know who Jesus is. Think thats all for now. Continue to keep me in your prayers and will be back soon, may be in December. God Bless!!

Hi Guys, I've some photos to update you all about my click here: Taken During outfield: Sunrise at Binturan Range The people i will trust my life with Standing under shade. love this photo! Us trying to capture the rainbow in the pic
Hi everyone, sorry for not blogging for quite sometime.. been busy with work recently. I'm gonna update things that happen this two weeks so do bear with me if this entry is too long hahaha... Anyway, went for outfield two weeks ago. The drive is good, but my platoon mate commented that Í'm driving a bit too slow, though my Detachment Comd didn't say anything about it. Think will try to pick up speed a bit for the next outfield. Also, kanna alot of scolding from our 2 I/C over minor issues. Kind of demoralising especially for my VC, Wilson. Thank God, I've been here long enough that I'm immune to the scolding ler.. ahaha... Please pray for my 2I/C, ssg Victor. He is a Christian but tends to get agitated easily and start scolding people. Pray that God will give him patience and wisdom that he will be reminded that, 'in your anger, do not sin'. This week is a busy week for me and my platoon mates. I should name this week , 'first aid' week. As we are being task to come out with a presentation for the Annual Safety Day. We've chose the topic on Heat injuries for the presentation. However, we have only 4 days to complete the ppt. Thank God that we manage to rush out the ppt after much research. Pray that we will be able to score and emerge champion for this yr Safety day. Also, yesterday we have our CPR Lesson conducted by the Senior Medic from Lakiun Camp. It was a interesting and fun learning for me. Though I've taken the Heartsaver course, but i still learn quite a lot from the lesson. Thinking of taking a standard first aider course when i go back to Singapore. Also, ín the aim of improving our physical to get IPPT GOLD as listed by Comd, ADC has decided to bring back the tough training for us. This week we have run about 13km. I pray that i will be able to gain back my physical and get silver at least for my second window. By the way, This month is the start for the 200km run. We will be aiming to complete 200km within 3 months. Thus, we have to run about 10 km each week to hit the target. Please pray for me that i will be able to achieve it. Please do pray for me as I've began to felt the pressure as the Aries club overall 2 I/C. As some of the ppl here are not contributing and putting in effort to help one another. Pray that God will give me extra patience and wisdom to deal with any issues that may arise. Think thats all for now. Oh ya, heard that ms joyann has found a job at one of the international primary school, thank God for the providence :) Also, Jon, if you can't think of what to send me, you can send me some food.. hahahah i will be glad to accept it :) can also send me photos too.

Hi there, hasn't been updating my blog for quite a while. Just recovered from serious flu and sore throat. For the past few days, hasn't been able to sleep well and easily get agitated. Thank God that Camillus has some flu pills, after consuming it and together with a good sleep, I felt much better ler. Falling sick is really terible especially when you are in a foreign land like Brunei... at that point really misses home sia.... Anyway, felt a lot better ler so still okay la.. haha By the way, I've got good news to announce: after months of learning, I've finally passed my driving test and got my driving license!!!! Hooray!!! Although spent quite alot on it, about $550 but its still much more cheaper as copare to SG, hopefully can convert. Also have been promoted to the rank of CPL WEF 1st July!!! Now I'm CPL Caleb Choo ler.. hahaha... Now NSF allowance increase $50 plus I promoted cum 1 yr soldier liao.. wow now allowance a lot more sia... so happy sia :) :) Yesterday went to watch Harry Potter: Order of Phoenix together with my platoon mates at Q-Lap Mall. A great disappointment i would say... it far below what I've expected it to be. The story line sucks and there isn't much fighting and I agreed with Von that the kissing scene is really not required for the movie lor. Pray that the next episode will be much much much....much better. After that went to church together with Chief and Benjamin. Heard from the usher that once the new building is complete, the serivce will be change back to Sunday morning. I hope that the service will still remain at saturday night, at least don't ned to wake up so early to go church, plus no need to see commander so not that stress. Mostly likely will extend my tour till next year march. Will fight for indulgence to go back around October or November. Haven't speak to my parents, will call back once I came back from Binturan. Thats all for now. Will update more after I return from outfield. Please pray for Safety and health for me and my platoon mates. Till then, all my friends out there, take care and God Bless!!! :)

Today is a rather tiring day for me. Just now we had touch rugby and soccer for the Healthy Lifestyle. Played from 5 to nearly 7pm. The soccer is fun even though we eventually lost the game. After that move on to Touch rugby. We have to pass around the rugby ball before the opponent touches us. As many of us are not familiar with the game, we ended up whenever we see someone got the ball, we will all chase after the ball. Haha quite stupid and silly i would say. Until the end of the game, then we start to have some action. Think we need to practise more in order to enjoy the game. Anyway, LO just now mention we wil be having a Lancer Cup this august. Games like basketball, touch rugby, soccer and golf will be available for all to participate. Kinda excited about it and hope that JAC will win cos we have not been winning for quite a while. Anyway, yesterday we had our monthly cohesion at JPMC. Went there for swimming(though i can't swim O_o), Sauna and Jacuzzi. Ended up playing captain ball at the pool. Enjoyed the game alot. Am glad that the new batch is very sporty and willing to participate, thus we all enjoyed alot.Took some photo there, will try to post it up if some kind hearted one is willing to teaching me how... hahaha Think thats all for now. Oh by the way, Kelvin's Understudy has arrived yesterday. His name is Benjamin, and guess what? He is a Christian too!!! Hooray!!! Praise and thank God for sending another brother here to fellowship together with us!! Thats all folks! :)

Yesterday, we had a BBQ session for the Aries Club in JAC to celebrate the birthday for the personnel born in themonth of June and at the same time for those who is going to EOT soon. This is the 1st time that we manage to get the whole Aries Club to participate in this event. As in the past, individual wll go out with their own click, there isn't really a single session where by all the Aries Club members are present. The mood was very relaxing, think everyone enjoyed alot especially the food. Wanna say a Big Thank You to Hafis & Jun Nian for preparing the food for all of us. Also wanna thank mr Mohan for sponsoring the drinks and Dy for sponsoring $100 and T-loaning us his BBQ Pit. The food is delicious but we couldn't manage to finish it all, its quite a waste i would say. Took some pictures during the event, think will get it upload at a later date. Just now was talking to Jun Hong via MSN. Heard from him that his father just passed away last monday. At that point, I was really stunned, dunno what to say to him. Now he is the only male left in his family with his sisters. I'm glad that he is willing to open up and speak to me about it even though I can do nothing. Thank God he didn't extend his stay in JAC or else he won't be able to see his father one last time. Please pray for him and his family as they go through this difficult times. Pray for strength and wisdom to be upon the family especially on Jun Hong. Talking about extending the stay in JAC, I'm still deciding whether to extend. Cos My tour will end on December 07. I've still got 6 more months before I ORD. Thus, I'm thinking of extending my stay till April next year, after which I will go back SG, clear leave and ORD. However, my worries is my mum, she seems upset when I told her my intentions. Please pray for me that I will make a decision that will please God and at the same time Honor my parents.

Just change a new blogskin for my blog, think its a lot more nicer than the previous one ba.. This few days quite relaxing sia.. nothing much to do just stay at the tank shed whole day to servcie the vehicle if not just stay in office to wait for the time to knock off. Kinda enjoy this kind of life style sia.... haha i know this sounds like," I'm starting to become lazier and lazier ler" but this is how the life is here. Yesterday went for my fourth driving lesson. Not too bad, able to control well in the parking section but still not able to balance well for the stopping and moving off from the slope. Think I will take a few more lessons to make sure that I'm ready for the test. Cos dun want to waste my money on taking the test again. Then after the lesson, went out with Lim hong they all to Gadong 1 dollar market. Bought a lot of food, got nasi katok(many many packets!!), Chicken wings, Papa John etc... Also we help to celebrate our ''vehicle Man'', Zhi Yi's Birthday. Have quite a lot fo fun. Then sleep at 12.30am, almost overslept and late for work, thk God tht Zhiyi came to knock at my door and wake me up sia. This saturday we will be organising a BBQ for the whole Aries Club to celebrate the birthdays of ppl in the mth of June and also the EOT personnel. Hope that everyone will have an enjoyable session with each other, even though I that day got Guard Duty, I will still make a trip to go donw one. Cos how can i miss out the fun and especially the FOOD!!! haha think thats it for now. Will update more when got time and please contine to keep me in your prayer ba!! God Bless!

Back again to update on my life. Its been 5 days since i came back to Brunei. Before I come back , manage to bring my mum and sis to eat sakae Sushi. Even though I don't like to eat sushi, I still join them cause my mum want to eat. After that, went to walk around in Chua Chu Kang Lot 1 before proceeding to meet up with Kang Ling,Aina and Zhong wei at Jurong East Mrt Station. However, in the end we still end up in Lot 1 eating Ajisen Ramen. The service there isn't very good, but we enjoy the session alot, chatting and laughing through out the session. After that, went to the K box next door for karaoke. Stayed there for about 3 hours before proceedin to the Mrt station to catch the last train back home. During the journey back, we talk about what we want to do after we ORD. At that point, I really realised that we have slowly step into adulthood and my next phase of life will most probably be working life which I kind of feel sian. I thank the Lord for being so good to me by giving me a group of fun and loving friends which really care for one another. Think if without them, my life will be quite blank. Anyway, I'm glad that I managed to meet up with most of my friends in Singapore, especially the ladies before I return to Brunei for another 6 months. Actually, I have the intention of extending my stay in Brunei for another 3 -4 months. When i return home, i convey my intention to my mum and she is rather sad upon hearing it. When I saw her expression, I also felt very guilty. When I shared this with my cell group mates, Ms Sherine told me this which really shaken my thoughts on extending my stay. She said that comapre the money and staying in Singapore if that few months of stay in Singapore can make my mum feel happy may be its worth not to extend. This make me start to have some serious thougth about it. Cos i'm very close to my mum, it really makes me guilty to see her so sad. Thus please pray for me, pray that Iwill make a decision that pleases the Lord and will make my mum happy too. Now trying to adjust to the life in Brunei again. While I'm staying here, will spend time to think about it and complete my driving here, now on lesson 3 already, a bit forget liao after going back for 2 weeks of leave. Keeping my finger cross for now and hope that i can pass the test. Think thats it for now, will update more when free. P.S: I thinking of chging my blog backgrd, any suggestion? Also how to upload pics and music inot blog huh? can any kind hearted one please enlighten me, thks thks!!

Have been slacking at home for the past few days... doing nothing just watch TV... surf net/play online game... chat with friends on msn.. and the rest of the time?? sleeping and playing with my 1 yr plus nephew.... Quite boring I would say, it really make me feel lazy and useless sia, i really respect those who can spend the whole day doing nothing but sleeping and yet still can be so energetic sia.... Anyway, today went to town to meet with Zhong wei, shi yun they all for dinner. Before arrived, received sms from avril, aina and call from pei yung that they cannot come. was a bit sad when aina tell me she can't come. After that, avril sms me she also cannot come, even sad.... but still continue to go on to somerset to meet up with the rest. After that, pei yung called, she got work need to clear so cannot join us, even even sad....... :( In the end, only Shiyun, Yandan, Heling and Zhong Wei is there to join me for dinner. Anyway, I'm still glad that they could make it. Though we didn't have much topic to talk about, I'm still happy to see them doing good in their own areas. After that, we went for some walk walk in Taka. Saw that OP is having sales so went in to take a look and bought a shirt for myself. After that, accompanied the gals to Forever 21 in wisma. In the end, Zhong Wei and me waited outside for them while they shop cos not use to it in a shop which sell gal stuff unless I'm shopping with my GF then okay. After the shopping, we make our way to the mrt and took the train home. On the way home, He ling suddenly ask me how is Chris doing now? I also dunno, so make a call to him. He now doing some part time job and helping out as a volunteer in a temple in chinatown. He going to register to study ACCA. Glad for him that he has a goal to achieve. Its always good to have a goal to look forward to. I personally feel that as we grow older each yr, we should continue to meet up with our friends be it poly, secondary or even NS friends. friendship play an important part of our life, thus i'm always glad whenever i can meet up with pei yung, pei yi, shiyun they all. Cos we can update each other on our life and even if we got little topic to talk about, still feel happy to see that they are doing well in their own areas. The next few days will be exciting for me. Saturday meeting Jun Yue, Monkiki, Chief and the rest for Dim Sum at East Ocean @ Orchard shaw house. Sunday may be meeting pei yung, avril, aina for meal and also joshua they all at nicholas's house. Monday meeting with hajjar, then go kbox with shi yun, zhong wei, heling (anyone interested? Aina?Mui Fen?).Tuesday will be going out wiht my family to Sakae Sushi for lunch buffet, been feeling guilty for not bringing them out for lunch, so this wil be my treat to them ba, also to myself, hahaah... Then Wednesday off I go, flying back to Brunei in the afternoon.. Thats all for now, need to sleep liao. take care folks!!

Harlo, everyone!! I'm Back!! Finally, able to lie on my own bed, sleep until afternoon also can, no work, no number 4, no first parade at least for this 2 weeks la ahaha... Anyway, last friday went to the Pc show at Suntec City to hunt for a notebook to bring to Brunei. The place was really crowded, lotsa peoples, need to push our way thru. Theres a lot of good buy and jon, beng and me walk around the area to look for a suitable and yet affordable one for me. After walking for about an hour, finally decided to purchase notebook from Acer. After decided which to buy, we move on to help Jon to find the GPS navigation system stuff.. trying to locate the booth that his aunt say got sell the gadget but unable to locate it. After some walking, decided to go do some shopping before we purchase our IT Stuff cos it will be very troublesome to carry a notebook and walk around. After some shopping, we proceed to purchase my notebook and Jon's GPS thingy. After that went for Cell Group. Didn't really touch on the material, just do some catch up with one another and basically share about my life in Brunei lor. After that, went to Upper Thomson for Dim Sum. Didn't really enjoy the meal, cos the dim sum is not really nice. After that headed back home with my notebook. Saturday stayed at home the whole day, doing nothing but just slacking. Really like the feeling of doing nothing just stay at home, sleep, use net and watch tv. Sunday went to Church for service. people is still friendly as usual. After service, went all the way to changi airport for lunch. We have our lunch at Popeye. The fried chicken is not bad, just that its abit salty. After that sat at the place, chit chat abit. After that, we proceed on to the Cheesecake Cafe at Siglap. The ambience there is nice. I ordered the peach cheesecake and a pot of hot mango tea. Have a good chat with each other and we decided that this coming saturday we will have a BBQ session together , really looking forward to it. Will be meeting up with the rest in the next few days. Can't wait to see them sia... Alright think thats all for now.

Today a bit sad and tiring for me. Cos today went to send David, WL, ZW off to Singapore. Sad that they are leaving and JY/JH will be leaving in 10 days time also. We have been like great brothers sharing our happiness and woes. I thank God for providing me with such wonderful platoon mates here in Brunei and I pray that they will do well in the various area after they ORD. After sending them off, went back to camp to rest a while before heading down to Manggis to buy the food for our outfield. Thank God that the newspaper man of our camp offered to give us a ride to manggis, save us the sweat to walk there. Bought quite a lot of stuff, thank God that Alex is there to help us to carry, but in the end we still call a cab to go back to camp (though it is just 15 mins walk from Manggis to Camp). Just came back from the church service, today sermon is about Angels, its a bit boring which causes me to nearly fall asleep. Still, able to catch a bit of here and there. Now here comes the exciting part: My ticket has been confirmed!! Will be flying off to Singapore on 30th may, wednesday, 1040 hr flight. That means I need not wash & service the vehicle before I go back to Singapore. Though I felt a bit Guilty la, but I'm still happy that I can go back early in the morning!! ahaha.. SINGAPORE HERE I COME!!!! P.S.: Any good samaritan can come and fetch me up on that day? Jonathan, can make it that day??
Friday, May 25, 2007
Harlo!! I'm back again to update about my life here in JAC. Feeling really excited now!! Cos I'M GOING BACK TO SINGAPORE soon !! In just 5 days time, I will be sitting at my house sofa, watching TV, relaxing and do what ever I like to do. Though before my home leave, i still need to go for outfield, I'm not too sian at all. May be, its the home leave that motivates me ba... haha... Anyway, the new replacement for Jun Yue they all have arrived on wednesday. That mean Wei li, Zhi Wei and David will be flying back to Singapore tomorrow. A bit sad la, cos we been living together under one roof for the past six months, eating, playing and chionging maple and DOTA together. Now they are going back, and Jun yue/ Jun Hong on the 5th June, that left only me, zhi yi and Lim Hong. The new replacements looks like will take initiative to get things done one, so think should have no problem. After the old batch is gone, I've been officially promoted to 'Old Bird', haha at least for the driver side la. Hopefully the new guys can quickly get adjusted to the new environment and i will be able to build up rapport with them. Oh ya, btw, I've just started my 1st practical lesson on driving last wednesday ( which is two days ago). It was really fun sia!! I learn changing of gear, parking and reversing. 1st lesson the instructor bring me out to main road to drive liao. Today is a tiring day for me and my platoon mates I would say. In the morning, help to load and unload the bed frames and mattress to the NOK bunk. Had to carry them up the tonner then drive up there to unload and assemble. The bed frames are really bulky and heavy. Need 2-3 ppl to carry. Spend almost the whole morning doing on the same task. After all the carrying and assembling, our uniform is already soak with our sweat. Went for rest and prepare for the afternoon hike. In the afternoon, we went to climb the Bukit Shahbandan which is at Jerudong. At first, heard from the rest that the hill is very steep and quit tiring to climb. After going thru the hike, I totally agreed with them. At the foot of the hill, after photo taking, we started our hike. At the beginning of the hike, the slope is already very steep liao. Was a bit sian when i saw the slope. Use a lot of strength just to complete the first part of the route. After that we rested for about 15 mins before continuing our hike. As we go on, the slope become more steep and difficult to climb. We keep on climbing and climbing until we reach the mid of our route. After that, the route become more relax with lesser steep slope to overcome. Then came the killer zone. As we walk down, we reach a spot where we need to climb up a dozen of steps to reach the other place and did i mention that it will get more steeper as we climb up? By the time, I complete the steps, I'm completely shack out. For the rest of the hike, I just keep on going not thinking much and just following the rest. Luckily, the remaining route is not that long. By the time we complete the hike, its already 5 plus. Take a short break, do some head count and off we go, on the way back to our camp. What a tiring day I would say. :) Btw, my flight details has ben confirmed. Will be going back to Singapore on the 30th May via BI chartered flight. Its a night flight, ETA @ Singapore at 2300 hr. Glad that can go back 1 day earlier. Can't wait to see you all!! :) PS: Happy birthday to you, Aina! All e best in your career and stay happy always! God bless! :) Counting down: 20 more days to Home Leave

Hasn't been updating for four weeks ler.. Things are still the same here, Simple but boring life. Recently, just took my Physical Fitness Test. Guess what standard did I attain? SILVER!!!! haha :) I'm so so so happy sia. As you all know, previously I fail my IPPT becos of my SBJ and all other stations attained silver standard. Thus, when I first jump till 225cm, I was happy like mad sia, jumping around. However, the instructor say becos my hand touch the mat when i jump so ot counted. I was like... What!!!! #$@$$%$#%#$... suddenly felt stress sia. Cos have to rejump again. 1st jump: 216... Stress... 2nd jump...3rd jump... finally the last jump. I put in all my strength and JUMP.. I landed and look at the mark, I landed directly on the line of 225cm. So the officer is discussing whether to let me pass or not. At that point so scare sia, cos if i didn't i will have to retake my IPPT again... In the end, the instructor give it to me !! This really motivates me to run faster during 2.4km. Got my best timing: 10min52secs!!! Now can slack a bit, but will train harder so that i can maintain or even improve my timing. Recently, just confirmed on the taking of my driving practical lesson here in Brunei. Will be taking it togetehr with my camp mates. Hopefully, everything will be smooth and i will be able to pick up the skill easily. Also, Today is quite an interesting day. Went for zeroing today at one the rifle range. Very different when compared with our own range back at home. No shelter, shooting with the horses around us, eating grass and best of all, we have to paste stickers on the hole that we had created after every round of shooting. In all, its a totally new experience for all who went there today, enjoyed quite a lot even thougth the weather is hot. Oh ya, by the way, my camp has just set up a wireless network at the canteen. Now can use free internet ler.. haha so happy sia. Think will buy a notebook when i return back to Singapore so tht can use the wireless here. Also, good news, the transportation to go to church has been settled. Comd has given permission to get the ferry to send us thru and flow to the church during saturday nite. Now finally can go to the church more frequently, yeah!! Pray for me that i may be a god testimony among my camp mates especially the christians here. Also, pray for a heart of love, care and patience towards my fellow camp mates here. Think thats all for now. Will update more when free. Counting down: 24 days to Home leaves

This week is a tiring and costly week for me. Went to the driving school to take up their english theory lesson on monday to wednesday during night time after our work. The lesson got 8 students, plus the instructor who is also the boss of the driving school. What can I say about the whole session? Lessons presented to us in OHP & Transparencies..... The speech of our instructor is also one piece one piece, if you get what i mean.... then also the knowldge taught is not included in the notes given to us..... and the BEST part of all is: the instructor keep on arrowing us about our knowledge of Singapore Traffic rules and regulations & keeps on comparing Singapore: US with Brunei!!! I am so so pissed of with the instructor that i really want to confront him. I mean what is his problem , man.. why keep on picking fault on us, Singaporeans... If we know the traffic R&R, do you think we will learn the driving here in Brunei!!!! Go brush up on your english, you ignorant one!!! Felt much better after letting it all out.. Sorry for venting my anger here. Anyway, will be taking the theory test this coming tuesday at the Land Transport Authority. Hopefully, I can pass the theory test if not got to pay another 10 bucks and wait for 1 or 2 weeks then can retake. Have been spending quite a lot this month on the driving lesson. Paid $120 for the theory lesson (now understand why i so fend up right?), almost 30 dollars on the transport thru and flow to the driving school. Total damage so far: 150 dollars. After passing the theory, will start to pick up the practical lessons. Hopefully i can pick it up fast and easy. Btw, another demoralising thing happened this week. I FAILED my IPPT. So sad sia, stuck at the SBJ station, all other station got silver standard except this one. really demoralising sia, last time at least ca nget a pass for SBJ , but now can't even sia. Becos of this, I need to go back to the tought Unit fitness program (UFP) to train again. Hopefully, i can get at least a pass on the upcoming IPPT at the end of this month. Please pray for me in the following areas: -Fitness: pray that i can endure all the tough physical training & get a silver in IPPT -Driving: Pray that i will have discipline to study for the theory test & be earnest in learning during the practical lesson. Spiritual walk: -Pray that i will be a role model among my camp mates especially the christians in the camp. -Continue to be discipline to read God's word and put it into practice -Pray that God will tame my tongue as i tend to scold vulgarity while i'm with my platoon mates. Labels: I really misses home~~~Sob Sob :(

Found this site from Yvonne's Blog: Drawhouse.com. Its a site that uses drawing to analyse a person's character.click here to view my house. This is what it says of me: You are sensitive and indecisive at times. You are good at making friends and when the joyful moment arrives, you make the most out of it. You are shy and reserved. If you've drawn a cross on each of windows, you always want to live alone. Once you have a problem, you need a friend with you. Your life is always full of changes. You will avoid being alone and seek the company of others whenever possible. You love excitement and create it wherever you go. You have a strong personality and you like to command, influence and control people. You added a flower into your drawing. The flower signifies that you long for love. It also safe to say that others don't see you as a flirt. You don't think much about yourself.

Hi Everyone! back to blog again. This week is a slack week to me. 1st two days were off days for us, so went out to use internet and play online game. Wednesday Decided to take up driving here. Went to the land transport authoirty of Brunei to apply for Provisional Driving license (PDL). Took half day off to go register, but end up waiting for 1 hour before we can go in the office cos we went during their lunch time "_"... In the end, fill up the application form and went into the room for interview after that waited for 1 hour before we finally get our PDL. Will be going for theory lesson, test then go for the practical driving lesson. Hopefully, i can pass in one time so that i can save a bit of money though learning driving here is cheaper than in SG. After that, went to Gadong to surf net and at the same time have dinner with our stand in ADC, Lta Su as he will be departing on thursday. Went to escapade, a Japanese Sushi restaurant to eat. The place is vey nice and the food portion is very huge. I'm telling you its HUGE.. too bad didn't manage to take the photos of the food they serve. The price is also very cheap, 5 persons only 52 bucks, can you believe it and somemore we order alot. Value for money I would say. Will post up pic when i visit the restaurant again. Thursday Lta Heng came back from SG together with Lim Hong. Lim Hong will be staying here for half a year at least and will be going back with me ba. Whole day slack in office do nothing, chit chat, say lame jokes. Then during evening life run, I suddenly run super fast, which me myself also cannot believe sia. think my stamina is improving which is a good sign, haha.. Have been going to Gym to train on weights for the past 3 weeks. Hopefully will have some results before i go back SG for home leave. Thank God for WO Raymond there to train me. Yesterday, after the session got a short chat with him and he speak of a sentence that I like a lot. He said at his office in SG got a phrase on the wall, 'rank is what i wear, but respect is what i earn'. I like this sentence alot, cos its not easy to earn ones respect. we shouldn't always used rank to try to get things done but at the same time if ppl respect you, they will listen to you and do their best. Friday Its rather a slack day for me. Morning went to St Andrew Anglican Church for the Good Friday worship Service after that went to por market for breakfast, eat the pau & Wanton mee. The pau is HUGE!! felt very full after the meal. After that went back to camp to work. change to number for only 1 hour then went out to the church again for the screening of Jesus Flim in the after. After that immediately went to Gadong to surf net. Very relax and slack for me, haha. Saturday Went to Gadong together with the Armour Boys as usual. Surf net, play pool, went for their pc fair, quite simple and not that big scale as compare to Singapore's one.Spend whole day at Gadong until 10 pm then went back to Camp. Sunday (which is today) Now at Gadong pizza hut, using wireless to surf net. Just came from the Sunday Easter Worship service held at Manggis Hua Ho Mall. The service is very exciting I would say, with all the dance, skit and singing presented by their church youth group. Pretty much different from our church, tend to be more charismatics. Well place that aside, the sermon is a bit dull but yet easy to understand. After the service went to the Emperor Dim Sum Buffet just one level below to have our lunch. The Dim Sum variety is not alot but the taste still not too bad. Eat a lot and have a good chat with WO Raymond & family, Mdm Gloria and Staff Victor. After that, came here to surf net and play online game. What a way to spend my week isn't it? In conclusion, I can only describe my whole week in one word, 'SLACK'. Will update more next week. btw, Jun wen, rest well men, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO XIAO MEI MEI, AVRIL!! :)

Hi everyone! Back again to update on my boring life here in Brunei. Recently, have just started to read this book entitled,'reaching for the invisible God'. Though I've completed reading a few books since my stay here, the book is sort of interesting to me. Cos it talks about how do we get close to God even if we can't see him or touch him physically. At the end of every chapter, there will always be a quote say by some ppl. I personally like this one,
"If knowing answers to life's questions is absolutely necessary to you, then forget the journey. You will never make it, for this is a journey of unknowables - of unanswered questions, enigmas, incomprehensibles, and most of all, things unfair." Madame Jeanne Guyon I agreed with the quote, because life is really fully of uncertainties. We never really know what will happen the next moment. What we can do is, everytime we faced difficulties, we should try to work the best out of it. Stop asking God , the "why, why, why" question. Instead, ask Him " Lord, how can i make the best out of it." and ask for strength to go through the difficulties. Well, yesterday just taken 3 extra duties from my DY COMD. 1st time kanna extra duties. Don't ask me why, cos the reason is rather stupid. Thus, will be doing 9 duties this coming month. Well thats life, will try to live the best out of it ba. :)

Just came back from outfield a few days ago. Two words to sum up the whole outfield, 'itchiness' and 'clumpsy'. This field trip encounter a lot more flying enemy as compared to the previous outfield, kanna alot of mosquito bites. Also, after came back got skin rashes so 'heng' sia. As for 'clumpsy', its meant for my driving. Not really proficient in my driving skills. Knock down a pole during the driving at night using NVD. frankly speaking, was a bit disappointed with my performance during the outfield. Thought that i could do better than this. Well, guess have to really brush up my skills before the next outfield ba. Have just finished reading 'tuesday with morries'(Thks to Sher for the bk :) ). Its really a very meaningful book, touch on different topics that concern us and the people around us. Good book, enjoy reading it. :) Have decided to takde up driving lesson here so that can get a driving license here. Will be taking the lessons together with my platoon mates. Hopeful it will be managable for us. by the way, I've just tight down with my officer, will be going back Singapore on 31st may for my vacation. Tentatively, thats the day la cos need to find ppl to come up to stand in for me while I'm away. Hopefully can find one so that i can go back.

Hi everyone, its been quite a while since i update my blog. Time really flies, i've been here for 3 months ler. another 3 more months or so i will be able to go back to Singapore for my long awaited home leave! Can't wait for that day to come sia. CNY Open House is finally over. Commander say we did a great job and awarded each of us 2 days off. Well, not that i'm self praising, but i felt that we really did a great job, especially in the area of the deocrations. A lot of the guest likes the flower decorations at the lobby. Too bad don't have the pictures with me now. Will post it up once i have the chance to do it. Now we are back to the time that we can slack a bit and prepare ourselves for outfield AGAIN... really felt very tired cos everytime go out will be a good 3 days gone... after that still must clean our equipment... no choice have to go... I'm down with flu again... haiz... feeling terrible right now.. need to drink lotsa lotsa water and take vitamins too. a bit low in morale cos no one is around to look after me when I'm sick especially my family members.... so sian sia.. alone in the foreign land , 'ren zai yi xiang'....sob sob.. please pray for me that I will be able to recover fast from my flu before my outfield. Also, pray for strength and wisdom to always follow God's word and be a shinning light for Him in the Camp and Brunei. Labels: I"m down with Flu again....

Guess most of you must have enjoy pretty much suring the festive season (which is still on going) ba. All the good food and accompany of friends... and most of all RED PACKETS!! Can't spend it at my homeland. 1st day of CNY, went to AO's house to eat and watch DVD. After that went to watch Ghost Rider at The Mall Cinema. I would say the show is average in rating, far from what I'm expecting. Anyway, the cinema is full of ppl, as if the show is free for all. After Movie, went for dinner with my platoon mates at a Chinese restaurant. Order alot of stuff and best of all, they sell 'Ba Guai'. Best of all, its 100% PORK!!! haha, bought one packet to bring back camp to eat. After that went to WO Raymond house which is at the High Commission. The place is really huge and grand I would say. Looks like a big mansion to me. Sit around there for a while watch Dvd again then went bac kto camp. Second day went to Log O house. We are the 1st to arrived. There isn't alot fo ppl coming to his place cos half of them have booked out to go Gadong. Same thing, eat and watch DVD. His house got one mini farm with chickens, rabbits. Quite cute.
