A Journey of uncertainties.....

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)

These two weeks had been rather hectic for me and my platoon mates. Last week, we rented two vehicle on Saturday as sir and Lim Hong just gotten their driving license. Went to Q-Lap Mall to watch the movie,”Beowulf”. I was rather disappointed as the movie is ¾ full of animated scenes. Also the whole movie has been using the same plot over and over again, making it rather boring. Another Garbage movie... haiz … after that went to Jerudong Park for the go cart and other games like the bumper car and the water log. After which, we went to Terrace Hotel to have our steamboat dinner which cost us about $15 each. Later the night, we initially wanted to go to Pentai Jerudong which has a rather spacious car park which we can use for our driving practices. However, while on the way there, it started to raining cats and dogs. In the end we have no choice but to turn back and proceed back to camp.

Last week we have our Challenge Cup among us and our counterparts. I participated in 2 games: Basketball and Touch Rugby. During the 1st round, we won the Basketball but draw in touch rugby and soccer. After that during our second round, manage to thrash them in basketball (51-6 hahaha) and touch rugby (1-0). I participated fully in the touch rugby match on Wednesday. That day was raining inconsistently; the field was wet and muddy. We form up in teams of 10 and put up a good fight through out the match. We score one touch down during the first half of the match. After that we tried to fight back to get one more point and yet at the same time defending our line against the opponent. The ground is so wet that we are like playing in the mud pool. Many of us inflict injuries on our knee and ankle but we still hold on to our defence line. When the final whistle is being blown, we are so excited that we ran to one another hugging and screaming. At that moment, I was so happy that I nearly broke into tears. As this is the first time that we played in the game and plus the bad weather all that. It really is the glories’ moment of my tour in here.

Today, we rented 3 Toyota Vios for the outing. Went to Mata Mata to have our breakfast: Singapore Big Prawn Noodle. I would not say that it’s the same standard as in Singapore, but at least there is some similarities in it. Quite enjoyed their fry kuaw teow and Carrot Cake. After that, went to Q-Lap Mall again, to watch the movie, ”Hitman”. I find the movie so-so only, as there are areas where the scene is not realistic, like a person holding a SAW machine gun on each of his hand, firing at the main character. It’s really hilarious I would say. The night before, I went to watch, the kingdom. Not bad I would say, at the first part of the movie, its like CSI, collecting evidence, examine the dead body etc. and after that, it become like Bourne, guns and RPGs firing here and there. After that we went to The Empire with the intention of settling our dinner with their seafood international buffet which cost $48 but in the end the whole restaurant is fully booked. We are left with no choice but to head down to Kiulap to the Capers Pizza and Pasta Buffet. After that, we went on our own separate ways, went to Berakas Stadium to practice our driving, turning and braking skills. Reach camp at around 2330 hr. What a tiring day…………..
